This is me at age 9; it was not my first concert; that was a Hannah Montana Concert at age 7, it was not my second; that was Justin Bieber's concert at age 8. That was my third; Hot Chelle Rae. There I am, gripping aggressively on that front-row pit barricade. In the dress, I specifically went shopping for after, it took weeks to convince my mom to let me wear a little glitter eyeshadow and switch my earrings out for the first time. As I chatted my mom’s ear off the entirety of the ride home that the band was singing only to me and how I felt bad for the other people at the concert, I'll never forget how she just laughed. I never knew how much of what she said next would stick with me for the next 12 years; “Kendall, that's how they want you to feel, that’s how you should feel.” That was where my love for creating experiences started. From that moment, I knew this was the environment I wanted to be in for the rest of my life. I fell in love with the energy, the people, and how everyone could come together to experience something magical that shared love and connection through a single event—the feeling of belonging.
Since then, I've been trying to find a way to recreate that sense of shared experience in every job I've held without even realizing I've been doing it, building moments of connection where teams come together and share each other's progress and accomplishments, bonding over the thrill of the environment being together. I’ve focused on ensuring that events, no matter how big or small, became memorable experiences for every person involved, from staff to members. Whether managing operations or coordinating events, my goal was always to create an environment where people felt part of something bigger than just a product or service. As I'm now looking to my future, my goal is I don't want people just to attend events or buy products; I want them to engage with the entire experience. I want them to know the story and feel the story. I'm passionate about helping brands share their stories in the same way by creating not just a product or event but a whole experience that people can connect with on a deeper level. That's the space I want to continue working in, helping brands bring their stories to life through powerful experiences.
